Army troops killed two bandits recovered rustled cattle after attack on kaduna settlement

Troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, under Operation FANSAN YANMA, have neutralized two suspected bandits and recovered rustled cattle following an attack on a Fulani settlement in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

 

Zagazola gathered that the incident occurred on Aug. 31 at about 23:40hrs when armed bandits invaded Kwanar Farakwai village. 

 

The troops in coordination with police and local vigilantes, mobilized to the scene.

 

The bandits opened fire on the combined team at Lambar Zangon axis. One soldier, was fatally shot and was rushed to the MRS Hospital, Jaji where he died . The team engaged the bandits in a gun duel, forcing them to retreat.

 

Subsequently, the troops pursued the perpetrators to Jura axis of Kerawa district, where two bandits were neutralized, while others escaped into the bush. 

 

All the rustled cattle were recovered, and efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects are ongoing. Investigations have commenced.
