Army troops repel ISWAP  infiltration in Monguno, kill 2 ISWAP terrorists, recover weapons

Toops of Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai have repelled an attempted infiltration by Boko Haram terrorists (BHTs) at Charlie 13 in Gana Ari, Monguno Local Government Area of Borno.

 

Sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Monday.

 

The sources said the terrorists attempted to breach the location but were swiftly engaged by the troops with support from reinforcements.

 

“During the encounter, two terrorists were neutralised. The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, six magazines, one hand grenade, a Boefeng radio, a bottle of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), 67 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a bandolier bag.

 

“Exploitation is ongoing in the area,” the source said.

 

The source added that the troops remained on high alert to forestall further infiltration attempts in Monguno axis.
