Attack in Jigawa community leaves two injured, one with severed hand

Two residents of Fulanin Gidan Gona Danzomo village in Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of Jigawa have sustained serious injuries following an attack by a group of individuals armed with cutlasses and sticks.

Zagazola Makama learnt that the incident occurred on Sunday night at about 8:30 p.m. when the assailants stormed the village and launched an assault on the victims in front of the community mosque.

One of the victims, identified as Samaila Sabo, 20, had his left hand severed during the attack, while another, Kabiru Haruna, 30, suffered a deep wound to his left leg.

Both victims were initially rushed to General Hospital Gumel for emergency treatment. Sabo was later referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kudu, due to the severity of his injuries.

Local sources identified the attackers as coming from Rugar Ardo Buya, and named some of them as Ali Haruna Dawa, Rulwanu Ibrahim, Sabi’u Hardo Buya, Dahiru Alhaji Murnai, and Ado, also known as “Dealer.”

One of the suspected attackers has been apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining suspects.
