Bandits ambush community watch operatives in Musawa Katsina, one killed

Sources in Katsina have confirmed the fatal shooting of a Community Watch Corps (CWatch) operative and injuries to another following an ambush by suspected armed bandits in Musawa Local Government Area.
Zagazola gathered that on Feb. 8 at about 6:30 p.m., a distress call was received regarding the attack on CWatch members traveling from Dangani Village to Dan Ali Village.
One member, Anas Yushau, aged 35, was shot dead, while another, Nura Nasiru, 37, sustained gunshot injuries. The bandits also made away with one rifle before fleeing the scene.
The police promptly mobilized joint tactical teams, collaborating with neighboring divisions to secure exit routes. The deceased was evacuated to General Hospital Musawa, where he was confirmed dead, while the injured victim remains under medical care.
Security operations are ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
