Boko Haram massacred 45 farmers in Borno latest bloodshed

Boko Haram fighters loyal to theJamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, have brutally massacred at least 45 farmers in its latest bloodshed against civilians in the restive North East Region, Zagazola learnt.
The search for bodies continues after gunmen on motorbikes attacked people while in their farms in Rann, the headquarters of Kala-Balge local government area in north eastern part of Borno State.
An intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad, that dozens of the fighters attacked the peasant farmers who were working in their fields with machetes.
He said that large numbers of the terrorists armed with guns and machetes encircled the farmers and held them hostages before executing them one by one.
The sources who narrated how the 45 farmers were killed said some of the bodies were dismembered while some were tied up and their throats slitted by the terrorists.
The sources said that the victims were buried on Monday with residents saying many others are yet to be accounted for.
Authorities in the region could not be immediately reached about this latest attack.
