Sheikh Bala Lau, the National Leader of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (IZALA), has commended the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DGSS), Mr Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, for his intervention in resolving the brewing crisis in Kano State.

Lau gave the commendation while delivering a sermon in Ibadan, Oyo State, urging followers to continue supporting peace and unity in the country.

He recalled that tensions had escalated in Kano over the case involving Mallam Abubakar Lawal, popularly known as Triumph, but the DGSS played a key role in de-escalating the situation.

“It was initially planned to charge Lawal Triumph to court, but the DGSS directed the Kano State Command to mediate between the contending Islamic denominations in the state. His wisdom and timely action deserve a special accolade,” Lau said.

The cleric also urged the Shura Council in Kano State, mandated by the government to investigate and resolve the matter, to ensure fairness and justice in their findings for the sake of lasting peace.

He prayed for Allah’s guidance for leaders and followers in the country and advised members of IZALA to be good ambassadors of Islam by spreading its message with wisdom and tolerance.

“I appreciate the people of Ibadan and members of Ahlus-Sunnah. I urge you to convey the good message of Islam across the nooks and crannies of this country and show tolerance to people of other faiths,” he said.
