A devastating attack by Boko Haram terrorists has left 34 people dead in Mafa town, Tarmuwa, Yobe state. The attack occurred on August 1 during Magrib prayer, with the terrorists opening fire on worshippers and killing anyone in sight.

In a gruesome twist, the terrorists strapped the dead bodies with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), setting a trap for security agencies or rescue teams. Additionally, at least four IEDs were planted on the route to the village, targeting military convoys.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack is believed to be a response to the community's default on payment of levies to the terrorists.

The sources reveal that the community had been paying levies to Boko Haram without the consent of the Nigerian Security Forces.
