In a recent escalation of violence, the Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihad (JAS) Boko Haram faction has reportedly gained the upper hand against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in a series of brutal attacks.
The clashes occurred in the Shuwari, Kwantan Kawule, and Toumbun Rogo areas.
Reports indicate that JAS fighters, particularly from the Buduma group, inflicted severe casualties on ISWAP forces, although the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed.
During the attacks, JAS fighters seized eight water vessels carrying several ISWAP fighters, further consolidating their advantage.
