Burkina Faso: More than a hundred terrorists neutralized in response to terrorist attacks
A VDP camp, located about fifteen kilometers from the city of Ouahigouya (Yatenga Province), was the target of a terrorist attack on Saturday, April 15 in Burkina Faso. In retaliation, the military units of the locality mobilized by repelling the attack with the neutralization of around fifty terrorists and important equipment destroyed. The next day, still under the same conditions, several other terrorists were also neutralized by the Burkina army in the Bam area.
Indeed, following the death of terrorist leader Jafar Dicko (neutralized in a counter-terrorism operation), better known as "Yero", considered by security experts to be the figure of jihadism in Burkina Faso, the terrorists launched several attacks this weekend. no doubt, to mark the inauguration of a new chief. Thus, the response to the attack on the VDP camp which resulted in the neutralization of at least fifty (50) terrorists and important equipment destroyed is a real mark to ask the terrorists to put down or die. Especially since the large-scale operations for the total recapture of the Burkina national territory will intensify.
On the other hand, on Sunday, April 15, another attack targeted the military unit of Kongoussi (Bam Province). The particularly vigorous response of the military allowed to inflict very heavy losses on the enemy. Thus, the rest of the terrorists who were trying to escape were intercepted by aerial vectors a few kilometers from Kongoussi. So the balance sheet shows about twenty terrorists neutralized and thirty (30) motorcycles recovered in addition to other destroyed/recovered equipment.
Unfortunately, two (02) soldiers lost their lives as a result of injuries in the fighting. On the other side, two (02) injured, were evacuated for care by the army health services. At that time, the Chief of State Major General of the Armies of Burkina Faso saluted in a statement the memory of the fallen soldiers and VDP and expressed his sincere condolences to the relatives of the missing. In addition, he wished a speedy recovery to the injured under care.
To top it all off, the Chief of State Major General of the Armed Forces reaffirmed the commitment of the National Armed Forces to keep the positive momentum going for several months, while reassuring the opinion that no blow, no matter how hard, will break the morale of the fighting units engaged in reclaiming the territory National Burkina.
