Cleric abducted from residence in Karu, search and rescue operations underway

A man identified as Faturoti Olainyi has been abducted by gunmen who stormed his residence in the early hours of Wednesday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God premises near Bristol Academy, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Karu, Nasarawa State.

 

Zagazola Makama report  that the assailants, who broke into the premises at about 1:30 a.m., fired multiple gunshots before whisking the victim away to an unknown destination.

 

The source said the attack caused panic in the area, with residents scampering for safety as the gunmen operated for several minutes without immediate resistance.

 

In response to the incident, joint teams comprising police, local vigilantes, hunters, and other security operatives launched a manhunt, blocking suspected escape routes and combing surrounding bushes and hills in search of the abductors.

 

As of the time of filing this report, the victim remains in captivity, and search and rescue operations are ongoing.
