COAS hosts Eid-el-Fitr luncheon to boost troop morale in Plateau

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to enhancing troop morale and inter-agency collaboration through welfare-driven initiatives.

 

The COAS, represented by the Chief of Administration (Army), Maj.-Gen. IM Abdullahi, made this known during an Eid-el-Fitr luncheon with troops at the Headquarters of Operation Safe Haven in Jos.

 

He was received by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander, Operation Enduring Peace, Maj.-Gen. EF Oyinlola.

 

Other dignitaries at the event included the Special Adviser on Security to the Plateau State Government, Brig.-Gen. GG Shipi (rtd), the Commander, 551 Nigerian Air Force Station, heads of security agencies, senior officers and troops of 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven.

 

The event, held on March 20, was part of the COAS’ efforts to motivate troops, enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen synergy among security agencies in addressing insecurity within the Joint Operations Area.

 

Speaking at the event, the representative of the COAS commended the troops for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining peace and security.

 

In his remarks, the GOC also lauded the troops for their resilience and professionalism, urging them to remain courageous and committed to their duties.

 

He emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration among security agencies and community stakeholders in achieving lasting peace in the region.

 

The luncheon, according to military authorities, also served as a platform to promote unity, boost morale and foster peace-building efforts among personnel operating in the theatre.
