Cult Clash Turns Deadly in Lagos, One Killed, Two Injured

A suspected cult-related attack in the Ijanikin area of Lagos State has left one person dead and two others injured, following a violent altercation at Abule Roundabout in the early hours of March 7, 2025.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makam that at about 2:00 a.m., a group of unidentified men in an unregistered Toyota Sienna bus, suspected to be cultists, engaged in a heated argument with some youths allegedly extorting money from truck drivers.
The sources said sources said that confrontation quickly escalated, and the hoodlums opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving a distress call, officers from the Ijanikin Police Division swiftly mobilized to the area.
On arrival, they found the lifeless body of a male victim, later identified as Lawal Dauda, in a pool of blood. Two others with gunshot wounds were rescued and immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The deceased’s body has been evacuated and deposited at a public morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the sources said that the Lagos State Police Command has launched an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators, vowing to bring those responsible to justice.
