DSS ARRAIGNS IMPERSONATOR OVER FAKE TINUBU LETTER
The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned Mubarak Abdullahi, also known as Sardaunan Samari, in Kaduna over the circulation of a purportedly fake letter attributed to President Bola Tinubu and addressed to the United States President.
Abdullahi, an avowed supporter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, was arrested on September 28 after sharing the document on Facebook with the caption, “ATIKU IS COMING.”
He reportedly admitted sharing the document during investigations and apologised.
The DSS arraigned him before Chief Magistrate Court No. 10, Kabala Doki, Kaduna, which ordered his remand at the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Kaduna.
The agency has also filed a three-count charge bordering on cybercrime and defamation against him at the Federal High Court in Kaduna. A date for his formal arraignment before the court is yet to be fixed.
