Fire incident in Tarmuwa LGA, Yobe kills two children

A fire outbreak in Barbuma-Koriyel Village, Tarmuwa Local Government Area, Yobe State, has claimed the lives of two children, police said.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that on Aug. 17 at about 5:00 p.m., the fire started while a woman was cooking at her residence. 

 

The flames quickly spread to nearby wooden structures, engulfing the entire hamlet. Two children, Dauda Mohammed Shuwa, 8, and Fatima Mohammed Shuwa, 6, were trapped and died in the blaze.

 

Security personnel visited the scene and rushed the victims to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead by medical personnel. Autopsies were conducted, and the corpses were subsequently released to the parents for burial.
