Four houses have been set ablaze by unidentified criminals at Ginzi Maza village in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 7, when troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace responded to a report of an arson attack in the community.
According to a military source, the troops, in conjunction with personnel of the Keystone, arrived at the scene and discovered four houses already set ablaze by the perpetrators, who had fled before the arrival of the security forces.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the owners of the affected houses were involved in a dispute with some Fulani men, with the matter reportedly already before the Keystone Nasarawa Gwom Division.
The security forces subsequently engaged community members and advised them to remain calm, maintain peace and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the arson.
