Four women were abducted in a pirate attack on a speedboat traveling from Angiama to Foropa in Bayelsa State on April 29, 2025, at around 2:30 p.m.

The attackers, traveling in another speedboat, approached the victims’ vessel close to Foropa, firing sporadically into the air. In the ensuing chaos, the pirates seized four women from the boat and fled with them to an unknown location.

The incident was promptly reported to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and investigations are underway. Authorities have detained one Jefter Titus, a 43-year-old speedboat operator, for questioning in connection with the attack.

The police have assured the public that efforts to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims are ongoing, with the support of local security agencies.
