Fulani herders have destroyed a maize farm belonging to a farmer, Mr Davou Pam, in Wereh village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, when troops of Sector 4, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), Barkin Ladi, responded to a report of malicious destruction of the farm.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that upon arrival at the location, troops discovered that unknown persons had used cutlasses to cut down the maize crops planted on the farm.

The source said efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators for necessary action.

The incident has further raised concerns over the safety of farmers and agricultural activities in parts of Plateau State, particularly during the current farming season.
