Armed men have abducted a young woman identified as Abubakar Adiza, daughter of a cattle herder, during an attack on their ranch at Otefon village in Oyo State.

Zagazola gathered on Tuesday that the incident occurred on Sunday at about 10:10 p.m. when seven armed men stormed the residence of Mohammed Abubakar and his elder brother, Malili Yusuf, at Oniyo village via Oyo.

The suspects reportedly forced their way into the house after ordering the occupants to open the door at gunpoint. They ransacked the rooms, stealing N30,000, four mobile phones, and some clothes before abducting Adiza.

Sources said the abductors later used the victim’s phone to contact her family and demand ransom.

On receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Atiba Division, promptly mobilised a combined team of police operatives, Amotekun Corps, vigilantes, and local hunters to the area.

The joint security team has since launched a search operation in the surrounding bushes to rescue the victim, while efforts are ongoing to track the phone number used by the kidnappers.
