Man dies after suspected suicide in Abuja

A 45-year-old man, identified as Ambrose Mkpati, has died in Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), after allegedly ingesting a poisonous substance suspected to be Sniper.
Sources said that the incident occurred late on Sunday, Oct. 12, in Topland Community, Gbazango, Kubwa.
According to the sources , the victim’s niece, Ms. Gania Karim, said she received a distress call around 11:02 p.m. informing her that Mkpati, a citizen of Benin Republic, had ingested the substance and developed complications.
With the assistance of some residents, he was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
His remains have since been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for preservation and possible autopsy.
A bottle of the suspected poisonous substance was reportedly recovered from the scene, while an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
