Kaduna Police Rescue Kidnapped Victim, Launch Manhunt After Bandit Attack

 Police in Kachia Local Government Area have rescued one victim following a deadly bandit attack on a Fulani settlement near Kurmin Kare village in the early hours of August 8, 2025.

 

Zagazola Makama learnt that the incident occurred at about 2:10 a.m. when an unspecified number of armed bandits invaded the community, shooting sporadically. 

 

A resident, Alhaji Makau, sustained fatal injuries after being shot in the eyes and attacked with a sharp object on his left arm. He was rushed to hospital but later confirmed dead.

 

The assailants abducted Bello Makau and Fatima Saleh during the raid. Following a swift joint response by security forces  and other security agencies, Fatima Saleh was rescued unharmed.

 

The surrounding bush area has been cordoned off, and efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining victim and apprehend the perpetrators.
