A dispute between two traders at a village market in Kokami village, Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State, has led to the death of one person and the lynching of another by irate residents.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 4:00 p.m. on April 4, 2026, when a disagreement between the traders escalated into violence, resulting in the death of one of the individuals involved.

Following the incident, angry villagers reportedly mobbed and lynched the second trader, setting his body ablaze.

Troops of Forward Operating Base Malumfashi were later deployed to the scene to restore order and prevent further breakdown of law and order in the community.

Normalcy was subsequently restored, with security personnel maintaining a presence in the area to reassure residents and prevent reprisals.
