Man attacks hospital staff, damages facilities in Maiduguri

A 24-year-old man, John Samson of Damboa Road, Maiduguri, reportedly went on a rampage at Mamman Shuwa Memorial Hospital, Old GRA, Maiduguri, causing injuries and property damage.

 

Zagazola report that the incident occurred on Thursday at about 1:30 a.m., when Samson, whose mother was receiving treatment at the hospital, became enraged and began destroying hospital facilities with an iron object.

 

During the attack, Samson allegedly chased doctors and nurses on duty, accusing them of negligence in his mother’s care. Dr. Ahmed Haruna sustained a fracture on his left leg while attempting to escape by climbing over a fence amid the chaos.

 

The hospital has condemned the act, describing it as both reckless and dangerous, while investigations are ongoing.
