Man shot dead over grazing dispute in Askira/Uba LGA in Borno

A 32-year-old man was fatally shot during a dispute over grazing land in Muva village, Askira/Uba Local Government Area, Borno State.

 

Sources said that on 2 December 2025 at about 1600 hours, Alhaji Usman, who was grazing his cattle, had an altercation with Jauro Ishaya, 43, of the same village over access to grazing land. 

 

During the confrontation, Jauro Ishaya allegedly fired a locally made double-barrel gun, hitting Alhaji Usman in the stomach.

 

The victim was evacuated to General Hospital Askira but was certified dead on arrival. 

 

The suspect was arrested, and efforts are ongoing to recover the firearm used in the incident. 

 

Sources said that the  case is under investigation by CID Maiduguri.
