MNJTF: 19 ISWAP insurgents, family members surrendered to troops

A total of 19 suspected Islamic State of the West African Province(ISWAP) fighters and family comprising 4 men, 5 women and 10 children who escaped from the terrorists hideouts have surrendered to the troops of Multinational Joint Task Force(MNJTF) on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023.
It was gathered that the militants surrendered to the troops of 242 Battalion at Charlie 6 checkpoint located along Monguno - Maiduguri in Monguno town.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that during preliminary investigation, the surrendered terrorists revealed that they escaped from TUMBUN MUSARRAM and TUMBUN SHUWARAM general areas in the Lake Chad Islands in Kukawa LGA.
The Sources said that iItems found in their possession include 7 blankets, 4 mobile phones, mosquito net, some personal clothings and the sum of Three Hundred and Ninety Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N399,500.00) only.
The surrendered terrorists are in custody of Sect 3 MIB for profiling and investigation.
