NIGERIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS HEADQUARTERS MULTINATIONAL JOINT TASK FORCE N’DJAMENA,
COMMENDS WORK OF THE FORCE AND PROMISE SUPPORT

1. The newly appointed Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Chad, Her Excellency Ambassador Lami Sauda Remawa – Ahmed paid a courtesy visit to Headquarters Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) at Camp Farcha N’Djamena Chad on Tuesday 31 January 2023. She was accompanied by the Defence Attachee of Nigeria to Chad Col OU Eke and Minister (Political) in the Nigeria Embassy, Mr Nura Bappa Aliyu. She was received on arrival by the Force Commander (FC) MNJTF, Maj Gen Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim. After the traditional welcome ceremony of visiting a military Headquarters. She was giving an information brief on the activities and achievements of the MNJTF among others.

2. In her comments, she praised the work of the MNJTF and its various Sectors in tackling the scourge of BHTs/ISWAP. She recalled the dark days when the terrorists were operating all over the region and causing havoc. She said the tremendous efforts of the MNJTF and other Security outfits have changed the narrative favorably. She commended officers and men of the force for their commitment, courage and hard work which was largely responsible for this. She also appreciated the political will of the leaders of the countries of the Lake Chad Basin region who came together to give life to this unique security outfit and called on the MNJTF to evolve strategies to end the conflict finally. She ended by paying tribute to officers and men of the MNJTF who paid the supreme sacrifice in the quest for peace in the region and prayed for their peaceful repose. She promised her support always to the force in its quest for total peace.

3. Earlier in his welcome remarks, the FC appreciated the Ambassador for finding time to visit Headquarters MNJTF. He said the entire force is honored by this gesture. He promised to continually take the fight to the criminals until they are totally rooted out as he called for more support to the MNJTF. High point of the visit include presentation of souvenir, signing of the visitors book and group photograph to mark the end of the visit. In attendance were the Deputy Force Commander, Brig Gen Assoualai Blama, COS and other senior officers of the MNJTF. Visit was successful and hitch free.
