One kidnapped victim rescued as gunmen abduct three, steal motorcycles in Plateau

Armed men suspected to be bandits have attacked Bunyun village in Bashar District of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, abducting three residents and carting away four motorcycles.
Zagazola Makama learnt that the incident occurred on July 9 at about 10:00 p.m., according to local sources.
The victims were identified as Idi Waziri Bunyun, 50, Wakili Barau, 48, and Shamsu Ibrahim, 35, who were taken to an unknown destination by the attackers.
Following the incident, Army troops in conjunction with members of other sister agencies launched a coordinated rescue effort in the area.
During the operation, one of the victims, Shamsu Ibrahim, was successfully rescued unhurt after combing the surrounding bushes.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to secure the safe release of the remaining two victims, while surveillance has been intensified across Wase and adjoining communities to forestall further attacks.
