One killed, another injured in Zamfara ambush

One person has been killed while another sustained gunshot injuries following an ambush by suspected terrorists along the Dansadau–Babandoka road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Sources said the incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday when the assailants attacked local residents along the route.
According to the sources, troops responding to a distress call arrived at the scene and discovered that one victim had been shot dead, while another escaped with gunshot wounds.
The injured victim was evacuated for medical attention, while the body of the deceased was deposited in a morgue.
Security operatives have intensified efforts to track the perpetrators and prevent further attacks in the area.
