OPWS troops arrest four suspected drug peddlers, recover illicit substances in Nasarawa

Troops of Sector 2, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested four suspected drug peddlers and recovered suspected illicit substances and ₦225,000 in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The suspects were apprehended at about 3 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2026, at Upoversea Street, Mararaba Udege, during an operation by the troops.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops recovered 148 grammes of suspected cannabis, alongside quantities of tramadol, Rohypnol and methamphetamine from the suspects.
The troops also recovered ₦225,000 in cash and other sundry items during the operation.
The suspects and recovered items were subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nasarawa State Command, for further investigation and necessary action.
The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to disrupt the distribution of illicit drugs and other criminal activities in the state.
