Garba Abdullahi, A Fulani leader in Plateau State has berated national leaders of the Fulani community for abandoning their people amid the killing of at least 10 Fulani in the state within two months.
The leader, who spoke while condoling families of the victims of targeted killings in Plateau, expressed disappointment that Fulani leaders had failed to adequately respond to the growing insecurity affecting their communities.
He said the killing of 10 people within two months should be a major cause for concern and demanded urgent attention from Fulani leaders and relevant authorities.
“Where are our leaders? You have abandoned us. You left us with our problems and our suffering,” he said, accusing the leaders of failing to convene a meeting or address the situation publicly despite the scale of the killings.
He questioned why the deaths of 10 people within two months had not received the attention they deserved, stressing that every life lost represented a family and community affected by the violence.
The Fulani leader appealed to national and state authorities to investigate the killings, protect vulnerable communities and ensure that those responsible were held accountable.
He also urged Fulani communities to remain patient and law-abiding, while calling on their leaders to take greater responsibility for the welfare and security of their people.
