Police, army troops Foil Kidnap Attempts, Rescue 6 Victims in Katsina

The Nigeria police in collaboration with the army troops in Katsina, foiled two kidnap attempts and rescued six victims on September 28, 2024.
The first incident occurred on the Jibia-Kauran Namoda road, where police operatives responded to a distress call at 0815 hours.
They engaged the suspects in a gun duel and successfully rescued four kidnapped victims, who were rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, one victim succumbed to gunshot injuries sustained during the attack.
In a separate incident, Faskari Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call at 0700 hours regarding an attempted kidnapping on the Funua-Gusau road at Unguwar Boka village.
Police operatives promptly responded to the scene and engaged the assailants in a gun duel. Although the assailants fatally shot one victim, two kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt.
The command's spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, confirmed the incidents.
