Terrorist Ambush in Anka LGA Leaves Soldier Dead

The troops of Operation Hadarin DAJI on Sunday came under attack by terrorists while conducting a fighting patrol along the Gurusu-Gwashi road in Gwashi, Anka Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the troops responded to the ambush and engaged the terrorists in a heavy gun battle forcing them to withdraw.
Tragically, one soldier paid the supreme price during the encounter as he attempted to flank the attackers.
In response to the ambush, reinforcements were quickly mobilized from the nearby military formation. However, by the time the reinforcements arrived, the terrorists had already fled the area.
