Police Arrest Six for Alleged Beating of Man to Death in Niger State

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of six suspects in connection with the death of a man accused of stealing two android phones in Agwara Local Government Area.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on April 8 at about 3:40 p.m. when one Alh. Dan’umma reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Agwara that a group of individuals had beaten one Alhassan Yakubu to a stupor over allegations of phone theft.
The suspects identified as Abu Dogo, Babangida Iro, Mustapha Iro, Abdulmajid Anaruwa, Kamal Anaruwa, and Nurudeen Fulani all of Agwara, allegedly conspired and assaulted the victim.
The scene was promptly visited by police operatives, and the victim was rushed to the General Hospital Agwara where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Police sources said that the suspects have been arrested and are currently in custody while the investigation is ongoing.
