Police arrest suspected cattle rustlers in Katsina

The Police Command in Katsina has arrested two suspected cattle rustlers who illegally crossed into Nigeria from Niger Republic.

Sources said that the suspects were intercepted by border patrol personnel on Sept. 25 at about 6:15 a.m.

He said the patrol team, stationed at Dankama Guard Post, intercepted the suspects along Duma village in Kaita Local Government Area.

“The suspects, identified as Abubakar Dayyabu, 40, and Sa’adu Zubairu, 45, both of Jankuki village in Niger Republic, were found in possession of two cows without any supporting documentation,” the sources said.

He added that the suspects and the exhibits had been handed over to the Officer-in-Charge of Dankama Police Outpost for further investigation.
