The Abia State Police Command has discovered the bodies of three victims, including a police officer, following a brutal attack and abduction incident in Azumini Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the  victims were among those kidnapped on March 4, when armed men in a Toyota Sienna ambushed a convoy escorting businessman Chief Obasi Lawson.

The assailants opened fire, killing the driver and another occupant before making away with the businessman and a police officer attached to his security detail.

Following days of intense search efforts, police operatives recovered two corpses on March 8, later identified as the driver and a civilian passenger.

Further investigations led to the discovery of the remains of ASP Tanko Natip in a nearby bush. His body was photographed and evacuated to Okeikpe Mortuary in Ukwa West for preservation.

The fate of Chief Lawson remains unknown, as tactical teams, assisted by tracking technology, continue their search for the missing businessman.

Security  has been reinforced in the area, with additional tactical teams deployed to prevent further attacks and track the movements of the suspected kidnappers.
