Police Inspector Arrested for Attempted Delivery of Live Ammunition at Nyanya Motor Park

A police inspector has been arrested after a suspicious parcel containing live ammunition was discovered at Nyanya Motor Park, Abuja.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that at  around 1515 hours on April 19, police operatives, in collaboration with the Keffi Motor Park Union, became suspicious of a parcel brought to the park for transportation to Lafia, Nasarawa State. 

 

Upon inspection, the parcel was found to contain an AK-47 magazine with 30 rounds of live ammunition.

 

The suspect, identified as Inspector Kasimu Usman, an officer attached to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit of the FCT Command, was immediately apprehended. 

 

During interrogation, Usman admitted that the magazine and ammunition were intended for delivery to another police officer, Inspector Haruna Mohammed, who is stationed with the 58 Police Mobile Force (PMF) in Nasarawa State.

 

Inspector Usman is currently in custody and undergoing further interrogation. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
