Police inspector dies after being hit by cement truck in Ogun checkpoint accident

A police inspector on duty at a checkpoint has died following a fatal motor/pedestrian accident involving two trucks along the Abeokuta–Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State.
The incident occurred on June 29 at about 12:30 p.m. near the Judiciary Complex checkpoint, when a FAW truck loaded with 900 bags of cement reportedly approached the checkpoint at high speed and without caution.
The truck,rammed into another FAW mini truck which was stationary at the checkpoint in compliance with traffic instructions.
The impact of the collision fatally injured a police inspector, identified as Afolabi Adeola, who was on official duty at the checkpoint. He was rushed to a medical facility in Lagos where he died on July 1, shortly after undergoing an X-ray.
Traffic officers visited the scene, took photographs, drew rough sketch maps, and recovered both vehicles to the station for investigation and legal follow-up.
The suspects involved in the incident are scheduled to be arraigned in court on July 3.
