Police lay to rest four officers killed in Nganzai attack in Borno

The Borno State Police Command on Saturday laid to rest four officers who lost their lives during a recent terrorist attack on Nganzai Local Government Area of the state.
The fallen officers are Inspector Samuel Ezekiel of Nganzai Division, Inspector Sanusi Mohammed of 58 PMF Lafia, Police Constable Bitrus Luka of the Crack Squad, and Police Constable Shaibu Bukar, also of the Crack Squad.
The interment ceremony was held at Kawar Maila Burial Ground and the Maximum Prison Burial Ground in Maiduguri, in accordance with Islamic and Christian rites.
Security sources said the solemn event was attended by the Commissioner of Police in Borno State, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, alongside the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations), ACP Jawi A. Mohammed, and other senior officers of the command.
Religious rites were conducted by officers of the Command Chaplaincy, including CSP Bukar M. Gajibo (Imam) and CSP Theophilus Mutum (Chaplain), who offered prayers for the repose of the deceased officers.
The command described the slain officers as gallant personnel who paid the supreme price in the line of duty, commending their courage and commitment to national service.
Authorities assured that efforts were ongoing to sustain operations against terrorist elements in the area.
