Police raid criminal hideouts in Abuja, arrest 136 suspects

The Nigerian Police Force, FCT Command has arrested 136 suspects during coordinated raids across black spots and uncompleted buildings within Abuja.
Intelligence Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation, which took place on Tuesday night, was carried out by operatives from 13 divisional police headquarters, including Kabusa, Garki, Wuse, Kubwa, Byazhin, Dutse Alhaji, Karu, Maitama, Zuba, Dei-Dei ‘B’, Karmo, Utako, Gwarinpa, and Wuye.
The sources said that the raids were conducted simultaneously at about 11:40 p.m. on April 9, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to rid the city of criminal elements.
Items recovered during the operation include four cutlasses, some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and various illicit drugs.
The sources added that all arrested suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation at their respective divisions, and those found culpable will be charged to court.
The sources said that the FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to sustaining similar operations to ensure the safety and security of residents.
