Security operatives arrest two in Abuja, recover live ammunition

Security forces have arrested two suspects and recovered live ammunition during a stop-and-search operation conducted along the Area 1 axis of the Federal Capital Territory.

 

Zagazola report that the suspects, identified as Shamsu Abubakar of Jikoko and Sanusi Lawal of Gwari Village, were intercepted on July 8 by a patrol team conducting routine checks in the area.

 

Sources said during initial interrogation, two live rounds of ammunition were recovered from Shamsu Abubakar, who was riding a motorcycle at the time. He reportedly attempted to dispose of the ammunition by throwing them away, but they were recovered by alert operatives.

 

Police say the  suspects are currently in custody undergoing further investigation.

 

Authorities have assured that efforts are ongoing to determine whether the suspects are linked to wider criminal activities within the FCT and its environs.
