Seven die, others injured in Niger auto crash

Seven persons have died in a fatal motor accident at Madalla Junction in Niger State, the Police Command has confirmed.

 

Zagazola learn that  the accident occurred at about 12:05 p.m. on Sept. 26.

 

It was gathered that  the crash involved a trailer with registration number MUS 259 YA, driven by one Suleiman Rabiu, 23, who was conveying sandurst from Warri to Kano.

 

“On reaching Madalla Junction, the trailer failed its brake, smashed three vehicles and caught fire. The trailer and three other vehicles were completely burnt.

 

“Four victims were burnt beyond recognition, while others sustained varying degrees of fire injuries.

 

“Police operatives rushed to the scene and evacuated the victims to General Hospital, Suleja, where three others later died, bringing the death toll to seven.

 

“Three persons are still on admission, while five others with minor injuries were treated and discharged,” said the sources.
