Suspected Fulani herders destroy cabbage farms in Riyom, Plateau

Suspected Fulani herders have allegedly destroyed cabbage farms belonging to Mr Danjuma Gyang and six other farmers at Rinyan Village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident was reported at about 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 21, 2026, prompting troops of Sector 6, Operation Hakorin Damisa (OPEP), to respond to the area.
According to military sources, troops who arrived at the location discovered that the cabbage farms had been cut down with machetes during the night.
The affected farms reportedly belonged to Gyang and six other farmers in the community.
Security forces have commenced efforts to track down and apprehend those responsible for the destruction as investigations continue into the incident.
