Suspected herdsmen kill one, injure two in Benue community

A 60-year-old farmer, Nomsoor Anundu, has been killed and two others injured following an attack by suspected herdsmen near Udei Village in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Zagazola report that the attack occurred on Friday afternoon while the victims were working on their farms about one kilometre from Udei Village. The deceased, who hailed from Tse Anundu in Nyiev Council Ward, was reportedly shot and killed at the scene.
The sources said the assailants opened fire on the victims without provocation. Two others sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The body of the deceased was evacuated and deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
Security teams have since intensified joint patrols and anti-bandit operations across Guma LGA in response to the incident.
