Suspected Kidnapper Dies After Multiple Seizures in Kwara State

A suspected member of a notorious kidnap gang, identified as Chumo Alhaji from Babanla, has died after suffering multiple seizures while in police custody in Kwara State.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that on April 12, 2025, at around 10:00 a.m., Alhaji, who was arrested for his involvement in a planned kidnapping of prominent individuals in Ajase Ipo, including Shehu Garba, the Sreiki Fulani of Ajase Ipo, and businessman Alhaji Ali Garba, began convulsing and was rushed to the Police Clinic. Initially treated for what was suspected to be an epileptic seizure, he was later discharged.

 

The following morning, on April 13, Alhaji experienced another seizure and was taken back to the clinic. 

 

However, despite medical attention, he passed away shortly thereafter. His body was transferred to Oke Oyi Teaching Hospital for a autopsy.
