Troops arrest 10 illegal miners in Plateau

Troops of Sector 3 under Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have arrested 10 suspected illegal miners during a patrol operation in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the arrests were made at about 5:40 a.m. on April 15 while the troops were returning from a routine patrol around Dong village.
According to the sources, the suspects were intercepted with suspected mined products, three digging tools, and two cutlasses.
The sources added that all 10 suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
Security agencies have continued efforts to curb illegal mining activities and other related crimes in the area.
