Troops arrest cattle rustling suspect in Benue

Troops of Sector 1 under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested a suspected cattle rustler and recovered one cow during an operation in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. on April 15 when troops deployed at Zongo-Akiki responded to intelligence on cattle rustling activities around Agan axis along the Makurdi–Lafia road.
According to the sources, the troops swiftly mobilised to the area and intercepted the suspect.
The sources added that one cow suspected to have been rustled was recovered from the scene.
The suspect and recovered animal are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
