Troops arrest five suspected criminals in Plateau

Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested five suspected criminals in connection with recent attacks and burning of excavators in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Source said the arrest was made at about 12:51 p.m. on May 5 following a manhunt operation in Sabon Gida area.
According to the source, the suspects were apprehended during follow-up operations targeted at those responsible for the destruction of construction equipment in the area.
“The arrest followed sustained intelligence-led operations aimed at tracking the perpetrators of the recent attack,” the source said.
He added that the suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The source said troops have continued to intensify patrols and security operations in the general area to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
