Troops Arrest Six Suspected Drug Dealers in Damboa

Troops of 25 Brigade, Nigerian Army, under Operation HADIN KAI and Operation DESERT SANITY V, have arrested six suspected hard drug dealers during a sting operation in Damboa town, Borno State.
Zagazola Makama gathered that the arrests were made at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 17, following sustained intelligence gathering and tracking of the activities of suspected drug peddlers operating in the area.
The troops conducted a coordinated sting operation at various locations within Damboa town, leading to the arrest of six suspects identified as Yakubu Mustapha, Musa Abu, Abubakar Gubo, Li Modu, Shettima Kolo and Abdullah Mohammed.
Various quantities of suspected marijuana and other hard drugs and chemicals were recovered from the suspects during the operation.
The suspects and recovered exhibits are currently in the custody of the unit’s Military Police for preliminary investigation.
They are expected to be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and necessary legal action.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, to disrupt criminal networks and activities capable of undermining security and stability in the theatre.
The general security situation within the area of operation remains calm but highly unpredictable, with troops maintaining vigilance and sustaining intelligence-led operations.
