Troops arrest suspected bandit, foil cattle rustling in Kaduna

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have arrested a suspected bandit and foiled a cattle rustling attempt in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Security sources said the troops of 1 Division, deployed at Millennium City, responded at about 12:55 a.m. on March 19 to sporadic gunshots around Tungan Ali Tato Village.
On arrival, the troops discovered that suspected cattle rustlers had stormed the community but fled on sighting security personnel, abandoning their operation.
A suspect earlier apprehended by local residents was subsequently handed over to the troops along with a pistol, an empty 9mm cartridge case, and a mobile phone recovered from him.
Normalcy has since been restored in the area, while the suspect is undergoing interrogation for further investigation.
