Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram Collaborator in Borno

Troops of 5 Brigade, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected Boko Haram terrorist collaborator in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

 

Security sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 11:22 a.m. on May 30 at Hausari community following a coordinated tracking operation.

 

According to the sources, the suspect was trailed by troops and CJTF members based on credible intelligence linking him to activities supporting terrorist elements in the area.

 

The sources said items recovered from the suspect included a mobile phone and a cash sum of ₦308,800.

 

He is currently in military custody and undergoing preliminary investigation for further action.

 

Security authorities said the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle logistical and support networks of terrorist groups operating within the North-East.

 

They added that troops would continue sustained operations in the area to deny insurgents freedom of action and enhance security across vulnerable communities.
