Troops of the Nigerian Army have recovered a motorcycle after suspected terrorists fled during a patrol operation in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on May 30 along the Kuran Mota–Kango axis within the Magami general area.

According to the sources, troops of 1 Brigade, Combat Team 3, while on routine patrol, made contact with two suspected terrorists riding on a motorcycle.

The sources said the suspects fled immediately upon sighting the advancing troops, abandoning their motorcycle in the process.

Troops subsequently exploited the general area to clear possible escape routes and prevent regrouping of the suspects.

A motorcycle was recovered during the operation, while further patrols were conducted to dominate the area and deny criminal elements freedom of movement.

Security authorities said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to sustain pressure on terrorist groups operating within Zamfara State and adjoining areas.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely intelligence to aid ongoing operations.
